Help with Raising some money.

As some of you lads may know I am mad, as I am always putting my name in for making money for charity!

Anyway-
On 24-27 September 2013 a 14 man team, that I will be part of from the Inkerman Company Grenadier Guards are cycling from Wellington Barracks London, to Waterloo in Belgium. Now I have never been on a road bike before but that's half the fun! All this is in aid of The Colonel's Fund Grenadier Guards.

The Colonel's Fund has been raising money since 2007 in order to provide support to Grenadiers who have been seriously injured in Afghanistan, and to the families of those who have been killed. The Grenadiers have carried out 3 tours in Helmand Province and have lost 15 members of the Regiment who were killed in action; in addition, the Regiment has sustained a large number of battle casualties, with many suffering life changing injuries over 70 last year alone.

Of course, there remains the unquantifiable number of young men who will have suffered mentally and who will need our support in the future.

road riding is popular after the Olympics. always group of girls in tight lycra riding around our way. Dont be too surprised if finding a bargain is harder than you first think.

i'll also pop some in when i get paid.

I've got a mate looking to move on a bike he was going to turn into a fixed gear project but has gone for something else. I'll see what it is etc etc for you.

Some more info on this,

It will be 234.6 miles, The ride is broken into 3 stages:

Stage 1: 24th September. From Wellington Barracks to Ashford (the fastest two ‘groups’ of riders will in fact go on to Dover on Day One). The riders overnight in either Ashford or Dover, depending on your riding speed!

Stage 2: 25th September. Ashford to Ypres including a ferry crossing from Dover to Dunkirk. Overnight in Ypres.

Stage 3: 26th September. Ypres to Waterloo. The longest day of riding but the flattest terrain. The route takes us through Oudenaarde and on to finish at the Mont du Lion, Waterloo.

and there is 118 days to go!
