Is a 3 mm polycarbonate plate easy to bend and easy to finish the cutting sides? I can get a plate of a mate for 60 euros. (100cm at 250cm) and was began to wonder if it would be doable to make my own polycarbonate windows.

you can do anything if you set your mind to it...

You can do your own windows no probs make a template and go from there, as for bending you would only have to do the rear really as the fronts and sides dont have very much of a curve. As for finishing you can polish the pollycarb to clear again *smiley*

Dorking

you don't even need to bend the rear.

ACW motorsport plastic's supply the rear flat and it just takes a little extra effort to fit.

So if i just pul in the rubber it will bend to the right curve. Front windscreen is not advised i guess....

I fitted a curved poly rear screen in my car, as Brett will testify it was a bastard to fit!

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Quarry Bonk

Lots of people just fit flat rear screens instead of thermo formed ones (because it's cheaper)
I've always had more problems fitting front screens, purely because the bonnet is in the bloody way!

Well going to measure the thickness of my windows and mate is going to see what he has... as for the rear I'm going to try a 3mm... he says it bends pretty easy if you heat it enough. But if i canfinish of the edges nice and shiny I'm conconsidering to just screw it on top of the edge.

I used 5mm flat polycarbonate for the rear window and the two quarter windows. The rear went in no problem

From memory 4mm is a minimum standard for any sort of racing !!

To form it correctly I believe it needs to be put in a mould and heated up to set the shape

He had a look at the car and said that if i put a heather canon in the car (and close it up) and use a proper heather outside i can easily bend that schape without the risk of cracking (not break but eeermmm hear lines) it. (Would even go without the heating but always a risk there) and i will more ore les stay in chape afterwards. .. and since some do it without heating and i have to pay almost nothing for the plate ill just cant resist trying it out can i...*smiley*
