brighton

hi all after recent gearbox/engine issues have now 75% decided to go k1100 na for while untill i get to grips with fuel injection etc

and main pointers -things to look out for whilst doing these?


ive read up on a few things looked though philc's build thread etc

have a good block to start with, time, money and paitents and keep a log of everything you do.

The main thing with the k conversion, is that there will be something that you will have to make/modify. Many people think the conversion kits make it a bolt on conversion, but they simply aren't. If you are wiling/ able to fettle parts to fit then go for it.:)

Don't get me wrong the kits available make it much easier, but it's all the other parts, like fitting fuel pumps, making brackets, wiring etc.. That make it a bit more of a challenge.

Sounds interesting, but when there are so many used about, why?

I've picked up 3 as part of my hoarding disorder, 2 were cheap.

indeed, especially when I managed to pick one up last week with cams, rocker cover etc for £150

My only choise for a head that bolted straight on would be KAD. The only point of this conversion is to save money. (well for most)
