I was an apprentice at Longbridge at this time - 80's but was never interested enough in the stories to go down and have a look.

Wish I had now, it was mentioned that the tunnels existed and that a Mini was down there, but I always seemed to end up on Cofton Hackett with a Lager during breaks...

I saw it in the tunnels way back in 2001 and it never looked like that, it was mint with everything on it!
I was talking to an old chap that worked with me and he and 3 others took it down there to take the engine out and put it it into one of his mates mini which had a 850 in it, when I told him that I saw it, he couldn't believe that it was still there, the car used to be a "ferry car" for the plant, but MG had to say that something fell on it to hide there embarrassment.

YOU CANT POLISH A TURD, BUT, YOU CAN ROLL IT IN GLITTER!!!!
