As some of you may have seen I lost my pistons a while back. Well today I went in the shed and found them. Don't no how I didn't see them the last 3 times of searching in there.

My dilemma is what should I do now as I have brought a block which has been freshly bored to 1293 11 studded etc so do I sell the block and get a fresh one built to my pistons etc or sell my pistons and buy some to suit the block.

I already have the head etc so if I fit my pistons I believe I will have to get the block skimmed as the compression ratio will be to low.

These pistons are +060 18cc forged omegas. ( so I was told when I brought them

how about a third option....

get +20's but keep these in case it ever goes bang, then you can just rebore and slap them in.

Cheers Brett but I think if I buy 1293 I will go smaller dish as i have been told with the 18cc the compression ratio will be to low as my head is 26cc. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

If Brett would sell them at £300 I would have had them but I think he wants £450 which is out of my budget :(

I no but I would need to either skim the head or block to bring the compression ratio up a bit which costs more money lol. The wife is starting to moan as the £3500 project I was doing is over £13000 now and still no full engine

Nothing else as far as I no at the moment. Will it cost more to have a engine bored from 1275 - 1330 than it would cost to bore a 1293 - 1330?

No I've never heard of anyone charging more just to a bore to a bigger size you should give your pistons to the machine shop so they can hone the bores to the correct clearance even in a batch of new pistons there can be a difference in size

Some mini places (no names) used to charge more for a bigger bore
I have had some cracking offers in on the pistons 240 was the best i think *happy* , and 2x400 offers tempting but just not quite there

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

Cheers I may get my spare block bored to these pistons and sell the freshly bored 1293 block which hopefully will cover most the cost. What sort of price do these places charge. Also can anyone recommend anywhere near high Wycombe that can do it
