They were shorrock gaycharged back in the day, so don't see why a turbo wouldn't work. Would probably bab itself pretty quickly though.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Hmm im going to rebuild the 1275 I just brought and when its ready to swap I will give it a try.

If you can source some proper old racing pistons for it and a 295, this would be as smooth as silk...

It has been done, I'm sure. The subject comes up on here now and then.

The issue is lack of pistons and an engine that will need more spending on it than a 998 or 1275 and then make less power.

Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

think so, wider center main so you cant jusr pop an 850 crank in an 998

It was just a thought as will have the engine spare soon so unless I could find a set of pistons it wouldnt be worth it

I had a shorrock on my 850 moke and have looked at building a tuned 850 for it, in the end I put 1275 which cost me £200
the pistons would have cost that ! been in there 3 or 4 years now done many a summers day beer run :)
