Well im hopefully going ozz soon so gunna sell my van when the cars on the road and use the mini for the last few months of work... Im a carpenter so tools will be a problem. But thinking of making a removable towbar to tow a small trailer with (nothing massive, got a defender tub laying around) but i want it to be removable for obvious reasons. Has anyone done this?

Im thinking some box dilled out to accept pins welded on the rear subby eather side, then fabbing a strong triangle type frame to then go out, clear the centre exit exhaust and then hitch the trailer.

Bad idea? Or anyone done anything similar?

Cheers.

Mine is selve made and sits with 2 simple bolds on the sub and one underneath the rear seat. Able to remove it in 15 minutes.

you can do anything if you set your mind to it...
i rather blow it up winning than keep it together losing.

finish date set for project 1... march 2018

how much load are you pulling?
i guess it would be more about distribution and perhaps trailer brakes?

The load will be small, just tools, more power tools than spanners and heavy metal items., trailer will probably be unbraked due to the size of it. Do you think it needs the bolt under the rear seat?

Thought about a roof box ben, but thought the trailer/towbar would be the easier option as i can just unhich rathen than having to try and lift it all al once.

Its for stability. Otherwise its able to bend the rear sub. When my truck broke down i used my 998 to pull the trailer with osb plates home... 1500kg... towbar did its work nothing bend. I have rubber grommets to plug the hole when towbar commes of.
