I have a N/a hif44, and i belive i can get a kit to convert it to turbo from mini spares, now if i convert it to a turbo carb can i still run it NA with the end goal of eventually getting my project off the ground...

why not just leave it n/a until you go turbo?

You can turbo an na carb without modifications to the carb itself

oh? I thought you needed the o-rings to seal in the pressure? well that is good new saves me a bundle on parts i thought I needed. only 44 quid but where i am thats $70 plus shipping across the atlantic. so good to know still need to ship some parts. unfortunatly *crying*

What about in n/a form when its sealing in the vacuum?
Only sticky point i would add is the throttle spindle although i have rebuilt many carbs and converted many n/a carbs the seals from the factory seem to be fitted however they feel like

And the o ring is fitted in the carb body anyway so a turbo o ring wouldnt fit without machining on the na carb body
