The only thing I have noticed is my 6581 has been sat in the shed for a few months and shows no signs of rust,where as normal metal goes rusty in no time

Well, From my experience - you don't put a different number into a forging for the same basic machining and a different HT...

i think they nitrided as standard or somethin that makes em harder. I got one in my engine. got block, cam, crank, pistons and turbo off ebay for 100 quid in june. quite pleased wi it all, new set o' bearins, quick hone of the bores, skim o' the block, oil pump and bobs ur uncle, fanny's ur aunt! |

i have heard the 581 was toughened it is mentioned in the vizzards hook if i recall. most metros have the 232.
