Right hold on blinking heck my email box has been hammered by requests.

Ok a bloke down the local used to run in a metro championship in the 80s. And hes for ever telling me what fun it was etc etc. However about 3 weeks ago he mentioned that he still had a few bits and peices left over from the car (he now hillcimbs a metro 6R4 with the turbo car long gone). So I have been over and scavenged a load of odds and ends for my turbo project. In the garage is about 5 possibly more gearboxs all compleate.

Now what condition they are in he couldnt remember hence i didnt take one with me. The owner (pete) didnt have chance to look any of them over (i dont really know what i am looking for when it comes to engine bits) so said we had better leave it. However he siad that most of them have issues due to the fact he used to go through gearboxs like anything and therefor doubted any of them were usable. However pete did say that you could probably built one or two good boxes out of the 5 or so that we found.

And thats really all i know about them. Hence i reply to Jimsters post asking if they were the same as group A metro boxs. From the replys i have had. i take it they are. So i suppose that i better get intouch with him this week and see what he says. And how much he wants for them

Had a chat with pete he is going to have a look to see what sort of condition the gearboxes are this weekend

great thanks for letting us know. I have a challenge gearbox, but it's not in great condition either, would be interested to see what he's got.

just wondering, how many emails did you get??? As if enough people want these boxes, Jack Knight (who made the orignal challenge boxes) will make a batch for us.

About 16 so far all wanting to know what sort of condition they are in. I get the feeling that a lot more people read this board than actualy post.

If 16 of us went to Jack Knight I'm sure we could get these made, I think I'll start a new thread!
