dont get excited.. but im curious, what are they? what were they made for? and why do you want em? stronger? better ratios?

Ratios!!! - a much taller 1st gear than standard SC boxes.

Not that Mark and Jim would tell the difference. Mark would probably go and leave two gears locked together and swear at it for not working, whilst Jim would put the box on the engine back to front and swear at it for the bolt holes being in the wrong place.

You really have to meet these two, to realise what window lickers they really are...

you could always mention about how i was very late getting to Avon 2002 because of my 'last minute' turbocharger swap, when i forgot to take out the kitchen roll i'd stuffed into the turbo intake and one of the intercooler pipes to stop sh1te gettign drawn in there.....

I sent dave an email last week showing him what a transaxle gearbox looked like inside:


This is the reply I got from him.

"Why do they make them so colourfull inside?? Can you get a glass casing for them so you can check for wear without stripping them down? It's very pretty, is that why there so expensive!

Doesn't Tran-X produce a ST close ratio gearset which is only good for rolling starts? It does indeed have a taller first gear. What is the ratio on first on the one you're after?

This should specify ratios.
Only other gear set with first gear that matches the Metro Challenge gear set is the Jack Knight Dog Box.
Not too friendly for road use mind

And, wouldn't it be much easier to have a gear set where you could buy spare parts for later?

it all depends what your doing with your car, if you wanted todo lots of drag racing, then this box could be really benificial to you
