I stripped my engine down so long ago I have managed to lose a few small but important engine bits.........

I am loathe to pay Minispares/sport ?8 for the priviledge of them posting me said parts as well, a pair of idler gear thrust washers dented my wallet enough this month anyhow....

So I need if anyone has them-

1) The oil thrower plate that sits on the end of the crank, inside the timing cover

2) The dowels that locate the engine to the gearbox

3) The short studs (I think 2 or 3 off?) that go between the engine and gearbox

Anyone able to help will be rewarded handsomely!!!!!!!

Cheers

Tom

Tom - the studs are a reallllllllllllllllly soft steel. I use cut-down cap head bolts instead, with the gearbox casting ever so slightly relieved so you can physically fit them (and a cut-down allen key). Just a thought if you're planning on many bananas!

Hmm useful info cheers Dave.

What I might do instead is get some 1/4" set screws of a decent grade and then make my own studs by cutting the heads off, thus giving the best of both worlds (easy to fit but good and strong)

Bananas Bananas Bananas we all love bananas.....

I've used 5/16" UNF bolts for some time... Works fine....
The problem with Allen bolts, is that there's NO room to tighten them back there..

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.
