Wanted- First Motion Shaft Nose Bearing Outer Race Clip (Turbo) Phew.....

As title-

I need the clip that secures the outer race into the drop gear housing. Tried to get one via my local Rover dealer but they drew a blank.

Does anyone have one they will sell me? Will buy a complete drop gear casing if someone has one but does not want to split it?

Or does anyone know a source of this clip?

ive got a load of spare drop gear housings. the circlip the same on all of them?

Im not sure where you mean like but pretty sure if i looked at it id see what it was!

Its the clip that holds the outer race of the famous "larger" bearing (!) of the turbo engines into the drop gear casing.

Its similar to an internal circlip I suppose, but it doesn't have the holes to use circlip pliers on. Think the correct term is a snap ring? But I could be wrong........

so its a bitch to get out then?!

ive got a couple of turbo transfer casings i can look at...

Not too bad actually, either end of the clip is chamfered radially (if that makes sense!) so you can hook it out with a flat bladed screwdriver.......
If you have a look, its quite obvious how to get it out.

As an update- tried another Rover dealer- that part is now obsolete.

Also tried Minispares/Sport, can't get that part.

Had a rethink and a measure, I reckon that a 45mm internal circlip with a bit of a mod might do the job nicely. I am trying to source one at the moment, 45mm or maybe 1 3/4".

I got on that is 45 mm unsprung,to big to squash up to get in hole.....thickness ok

Reckon you need a 42-43 mm one,o/d of bearing 39.5.....will have a look monday or there is a bearing shop round here that will have one

I had the bearing o/d as 1.692" (42.97mm)...........will have to double check that..........could be wrong..........

update......

Just found the right casing to try it in The clip I have fits a treat just wants a bit of grinding on the lugs and the wider back bit

I was sure it was that size.........I was sat here wondering how I managed to be such a muppet and measure it as that far wrong with my calipers....!!!

Its taken me ages to get round to this but thought I'd update everyone-

The circlip Dangerous sent me (many thanks) was ideal, a bit of modification to the shape shown and it works a treat! The ends are ground to that shape to allow you to remove the clip with a small flat bladed screwdriver. Its a bit awkward but does come out.
