They need welding mate unless your fitting an intercooler then you can get away with a T piece

i know this has been asked before but i came remember the conclusion ...... how much less effective is the dump if you run a t-piece neare the intercooler as opposed to welding it on the plenum? Is there a lot of difference or is it hardly noticable?

Not sure, mine seemed fine.

There are other ways of fixing it in though, you can use loctite type things or screw it in if you can thread it.

think some people glue there's in! It doesnt exactly have to carry a lot of weight but must be leak free.

Im just about to call avonbar, but on an exchange basis i think the best they can do for a pre-modded plenum chamber (exchange) is about 80 quid! im wanting to run an intercooler anyway, and ive seen them on ebay for arround 25pounds 2nd hand? they look like the pipes are included too. Ill need a intercooler welded pipe thing to replace the plenum chamber then though wont i? This is getting confusing!!!!

?80 for about ?1's worth off alloy tube and some welding, get it done yourself :) sure there must be a welding firm near by who will help you out.
The dump valve take-off is on the main part of the plenum then the interooler pipe goes on to what was the "u" shaped bit that goes down towards the turbo, check out the "how to's" :)

Took your advice and just had a look at some other peoples, decided im going to do a bleed valve and intercooler now that i dont need to keep things standard for the value, and its going in the mini.
