There are 2 coils in the coil pack one fires on cyl 1 & 4 and the other on cyl 2 & 3. Interchanging the leads between 1 & 4 or 2 & 3 will make no differance.

With the wasted spark coil pack 1&4 fire at the same time as do 2&3 so I wouldn't have though swapping the leads around would make any difference. Perhaps one of the leads wasn't fully pulled in and swapping them over sorted it? but that's just a guess.

Yeah I thought it fired in pairs, thats why It seemed odd when it made a difference, you could be right about the loose lead Rob, i'll swap them back and see what happens.

Does the MJ unit need a 12V supply to read the map off it? https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fusion-Fabri..._homepage_panel

i beleive it does need power to talk to the pc, but a 9v battery will suffice (i think...?) "Turbo's make torque, and torque makes fun"

New clutches can judder a little. More so if all friction surfaces werent 100% flat when re-built ( ie flywheel and cover )

matty, if you have no map installed (unlikely i know) or something is amiss ecu wise (again unlikely i know), could edis be operating in the default 10 degree advance-get you home-safety setting?

If the MJ is connected it will be running what ever map is in there... EDIS only defaults to limp home mode if the ECU fails to respond.

If you haven't got a timing light to hand a good check to see if the MJ is working is to get the car ticking over and then put in a big change in the map. The engine should react. I.e. increase the advance and the engine should pickup, retard and it should slow down, in general anyway. If this is not happening then I would suspect that the EDIS is at is 10degrees fixed. http://www.twin-turbo.co.uk

matty let me know if you manage to figure whats causing yours to jolt and misfire. Mine does it like a goodun usually just as its coming on boost, it'll stutter a bit then it'll just jolt really bad like all the power to the engines been cut and then go again.

Bud I seem to remember something about wiring to the coil that can cause those symptoms!

I assume to find the Map you just go, FILE>OPEN>then the list of devices should come up one being COM 1 with the meagjolt in? Mine comes up as being on COM 7 (although I us a USB adaptor as I don't have a serial port on my laptop) Isambard Kingdom Brunel said:

Ah right, I clicked on the GET CONFIG, and it said that there were no maps loaded, but it would say that if it wasn't finding the MJ anyway wouldn't it?

Matty, I have Rob's MJ to play with. I'll try to boot it up tonight but as I don't have a harness yet that might be a problem.
