...well new to me, should spell the end of many a mackerel...and...er...9.9 bananas, LOL.

Gonna give it a rub down and a lick of paint before summer, also gonna treat it to a steering wheel set up (need to buy a tube to attach to the transom for that), as you cant see where your going when sat at the tillar.

Just fishing, Ive been using a 10ft tender for the past 5 years to go out fishing, but its a bit cramped and can be a bit dodgy in big swells, so thought id buy something a bit more sturdy (LOL).

no, nothing like that needed, £60 a year harbours (mooring) dues, and if you choose to insure it (optional) its about £150 a year fully comp.

You *could* go to ireland/england in it, but with 10hp and about 10 knots top speed, it would take an eternity. There are much more suitable boats for 'commuting', any modern boats hull design will be able to 'plane' and reach many times the speed this can.

As it happens, this is one of the worse hulls ever, they were made here on the island, and were nickname the 'peel pig' due to theyre basic crapness. they basically push the water out of the way instead of floating over it.

I quite like it though, its got character :)

Im going to call it the "Wet Dream"

i cant even turbo a mini, never mind a boat!

hoggy, are those the ones that look a bit like warriors but not as angularly shaped??

reading your post has got me looking forward to the warmer weather so much!

mostly i catch coalie and mackerl, no idea how heavy, should buy some scales, but they do put up a good fight.
Especially when you have 5 or 6 on your line all trying to go down!

never dabble much with bait, i just use those silver white feathers with glow bead, they go mad for them!
whats good for cod (or callig as the manx call them)?

years back my best mate hooked a dogfish that was basically just a miniture shark, about 4ft long.
that was back in the little 10ft dinghy, we both had our feet against the side of the boat, almost tipped us twice!
We were so impressed with ourselves at catching it, then i almost put the anchor through the bottom of the boat trying to knock it out!

had a small (roughly 6m) basking come look at us once, that was a bit humbling when your in a 10ft tender!!

we were using whole squid with black lug wipped together on a pennel rig.

you are in the best place for some big plaice and cod mate so get out there plus the bass are bloody big there two.

the coastliner is a bit like a longliner rather than a warrior.

but i would love one of them two.

we nearly bought a seajeep ( like a warrior) but opted for the orkney as it was a lot lighter to tow and launch.

always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas

someone put a wreath on my boat last month, and again this week, after asking the harbour master it turns out it was my boat/outboard he hit when he fell in.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/isle_of_man/6307957.stm

just my luck.

ha, trust you nic!!

i know, bad luck or what!

apparently 'spock' (a founding member of the castletown ale drinkers society) he used to lean on the chains above my boat (theres a bus stop there) everynight after kicking out time...they reckon he just fell backwards...

on the day i went to view the boat the tide was out and there were 2 police poking around it, the harbour master later told me they found his wallet and some other bits and bobs of his under/around my boat, great.
