First mini turbo to get in the 12's & site perv

Herefordshire

I was chatting to the guy in the paint shop the other week and he was saying it would be 31st dec 2007

He also said that most products would still be available in a slightly modified state, that could still be used at home

how much truth there is in this though, we will see

I'd better make sure I get my spray job done Asap then!

Apart from applying the paint, is it a better coating in general e.g. hardness, rust protection?

Originally the cut off date was going to be September 2006, then they moved it to December 2006. They might make up their minds one day, I wouldnt worry about it though lads.

I seriously doubt it!

My friend works as a painter for a v dub, audi dealer, he is at the moment trying to get the paint for my build, and the rep he deals with is giving him the run around because of this. We was desperatly trying to get the paint before it happens tho, which reminds me, I should ring him and see where hes at with it.

LOL, the local one shut mid lsat year, he was giving the rep a chance, The other option I have is, I got to know a local bodyshop manager really well when I reshelled my mini, then a few months later done a dukes of hazzard style road to field manover in my BM, put a lot of work his way an he said if he could ever help me out he woul;d, could get him to supply it at trade price?

we have these cellulose and 2-pack banned for a few years already, there are several good alternatives that can be used at home with std spraypaint guns and equipment.
Not to worry, in the beginning the water based paint had the orangeskin effect. That is all behind us now. you can get used to it very quickly8-)

I am led to believe that the States have been using water based stuff for years.
So it must work.

The only down side my local bodyshop said was that costs would go up.

As with most green / organic stuff.

I drill holes in everything..!

a LIL fishing village on the coast - Newcastle Upon Tyne

place that is doing my car is in the process of going to water based colours, he is having to change his whole setup at massive expence........

a bit of useless info for you, but ferrari have been using water based paints for many years now :) then again their main engine plant has a forrest in the middle of it to control humidity levels for perfect engine building enviroment !! (i watched a programe about this last night !!) and we can all agree that the finish on a ferrari is second to non *wink* but like you say twatfull for the TMist who wants to paint his/her own car :(

As I understand it from my Mate who has his own bodyshop - there is very little difference and the waterbased paint is still solvent based and still really 2 pack. As per the upside down article!
