Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

Well, mucho better than last time, everything was going good bar a missfire up the top end above 4.5k on boost.

Also had problems controlling the boost and even with some slack on the wastegate we were seeing 17psi!!! to start we were seeing 20psi and remember this is only up to 4.5k!!

Boost from about 3k nicely so turbo seems a good match just need to get a weaker spring for my forge actuator and go again.

So reasons for a misfire on high boost? Going to try some ngk 9's and a wider plug gap next but with only being 30mins from the RR i took it away to fiddle and try again in a week or two.

Fuelling was spot on on both my lamba sensor and the RR one in my tailpipe.

Here's a few pics in its new colours,

oh yeah and as far as numbers go i was seeing 160bhp ish at 4.5k with 14ish psi. Pretty genuine rollers as well.

Nice to meet you Danboy btw *smiley* sorry i was a bit occupied but hope you enjoyed looking round the car and Mike's

that looks awesome iain! top colour choice, looks a bit of an oldschool racer colour choice to my eyes, i really like it

it looks a very 'neat/tidy' car in the colours

figures are sounding promising too, nice tool there!

SKYLINES ARE LIKE CLITS, EVERY FLANGE SEEMS TO HAVE ONE: see this sticker on my silvia

the Search-section on this forum is blummin superb & simple to use, unlike some other forums, without the search-section & the help of this bunch of chaps on here i'll never be able to !!!Start the day with a 998cc turbo!!! :) i'm getting closer though!

Iain, Was good to be there and watch.
Very impressive with lot's more to come.
The RR man was very careful and respectful of your car and he will certainly get my business in the near future.
Pump and regulator are spot on, thanks.

Look forward to seeing it perform this summer, it's going to be one quick car!!
Best of luck.
Regards
Dave

Nice one, cool colours. That red looks like the TTs red.

so 160 at 4.5k, assuming a flat torque curve, that's over 200 at 6k. good work.

dont mind sharing spec *smiley*

1293, mirage manifolds, metty turbo inlet, metty turbo carb, lightened and balanced rods and crank, forged omegas, phase 2 cam and 1.5 roller rockers, not sure on valve sizes but a well ported head by morspeed. JKD dog box, 4wd cossie intercooler, emerald ECU - spark only

errrmm not sure on what else to put really! nothing majorily exciting, just all the right bits in the right places! (hopefully!)

That's very high torque - 185 lbft.

Potential Avon winner!

Presumably from a T2, given your are using the Mirage kit.

Is it a standard R5GTT turbo?
