I soldiered up my Megajolt this weekend, All seems well and its responding OK,.... well at least I can suck the pipe and make the MAP readout move around!

As the title says just looking for Ideas on where to mount the EDIS and Coil pack. After a quick look I thought the bulkhead to the right of the Instrument hole for the EDIS unit and the coil pack on the existing Coil bracket.

BTW

The latest info on the megajolt site http://www.autosportlabs.org/viewtopic.php?t=927

Says that the "pump" capacitors C3-C6 were incorrectly specified at 0.1 microfarad, they should be 1.0 microfarad. This could rarely cause some communication problems.
I built mine with 1 microfarads just in case.

Doesn't the capacitor thing only become an issue with loooooong serial cables? I'm sure the .1ufs are fine for most people already running MJ *wink*
I've got my EDIS on the bulkhead directly ahead of the driver's seat, mounted on a bit of heatsink "borrowed" from work. The coil pack will live on a bracket under the head stud as per standard

Hi,
I'm not running MJ but my coil pack is on top of the transfer housing, above the starter motor. There's a couple of bolt holes already there *wink*

Well in 4 different installs between me and my brother we've done it 4 fifferent ways.

1) On the hillclimber its on the passenger floor with all the relays and MS.

2) On the old hillclimber it was on a plate on the rhs of the engine bay wher the wiper motor usually sits.

3) On my green daily hack it's bolted to the servo bracket.

and

4) on my bros grey 998, it's bolted to the bulkhead.

Basically put it anywhere where the wiring is convienient and where the mounting will act as a heat sink.

Coil pack is drivers side just above the suspension cone on the bulkhead crossmember.

Edis is on the opposite side, seemed to be the cleanest/dryest place is my engine bay!

Oh yeah, coil pack mounting too.

I drilled one of the mounting holes out and stuck a bolt through it into one of the threaded holes on the flywheel housing.

OK-- Cheers Chaps,

I think I'll stick the coil pack on the transfer casing and the EDIS under the dash.

has anyone any pics of where theyve put the coil pack?

At the minute, im thinking of bolting it where the old brake bias thing used to sit on the bulkhead using rivnuts, but id rather put as much weight on the passenger side as possible

BTW does the coil pack need a heat sink too or just the edis bad boy?

dosent need a heat sink,

mine is bolted to the transfer case, fiesta's have them bolted to the block, as does the MPI

only thing i'd say is try to put it where it wont get showered with water.

The heater tap, front bolt and the bolt that holds the plate that the solenoid attaches to.

Ah! I see,

i was thinking it was lower down that that,

in that case i cant steal the idea as my throttle body will be too close.
