Hi,
I'm sure people on here run their motors without. It just makes hot starting harder!
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Quite handy having a shield there...especially if you have a Carb fuel leak! had petrol coming in through the bulkhead! :(

i thought about ally ones but the problem being is the heat issue, ally keeps heat quite well and absorbes it very well, if you made them in stainless stell then thats a different matter, thats why rover chose fibreglass as it doesnt conduct heat very well, just my thought

good point nogin...but fibreplass doesn't reflect heat too good. Stainless is better...depends on the application. Bright annealed steel is good too, but will rust over time

I've quickly made one out of mildsteel. It bolts on the plenum.
Any opinion welcome.......... *wink*
Will make them out of ally or stainless (if I can find off cuts!)

cheers nogin....steve came up with a good point. Making it so it bolts to the manifold to stop it moving.
I shall do a modified one for myself or anyone with the float spacer.
Post a pic nogin...be interesting to see m8

Perfected them today. Hope to get a couple made soon. Found some stainless. Natural, un-polished finish.
Heres some pics of my 'MKIII' prototype version (crappy zinc coated).....if anyone interested in a stainless one, let me know. *wink*

yep. Noticed similar things on metro cup cars & manifold wrap. I have a bulkhead one already fitted....but theres no protection against the exhaust. I will be ripping that out and putting one of my new heatshields on.
Try out one of yours if you like nogin, in race conditions should be a good test m8. :)
