Looks more or less as it should, inner sill, outersill, then heelboard panel.

A stud is missing, should be above/below the other stud. (can't work out if its at the top or bottom from the pic) Edited by matty on 13th May, 2007. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fusion-Fabri..._homepage_panel

Hi, There should be a jacking point reinforcement in the sill, have you still got one? On the estate theres a threaded bolt hole in the sill at th rear with a big bracket on the back, don't know if they had them on saloons? Cheers, Gavin :) hmm you could be right actually and now you have mentioned it i can remember something not sure if it were on the front or the rear,or both anyway im sure its not a jacking point reinforcer i think it was where they put the tresiles into in the factory to spray the shells. the genuine sills have a hole in them for this. i welded mine up. youll be fine without this little bit in it Edited by Carl on 13th May, 2007. no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

The jacking point strengthener is in line with the box section in the middle of the car, there is a tab at the back of the sill used when they assemble the shells in the factory but nothing to really worry about.

I've definitely got some kind of strengthening by the jacking point which is under the seat box section, but that's another chuck of rust, abate one I feel quite happy about cutting out and replacing.

I'd never jack a mini on those plates, or anywhere apart from one of the subframes actually.

Like yourself I've only jacked up the BOC on the subframes but as the Clubby is going to has a custom / modified beam, I want to make sure I can jack it up be the shell at the rear. Isambard Kingdom Brunel said:

When I took the sills off mine, had a similar experience but with a little bit more left!

Did the car have oversills on? If so then all the crap that fell out will have been the oroiginal sill. I wish as it would have prepared me a bit better for what I found, some git had cut out half the old sills and welded the new sills over the other half. On 14th of May, 2007 at 01:02pm RogerM said:
Rob, if you look at the Somerford body cat then all will become clear. There should be what is called a "slinging nut bracket" in there. Whilst it is true that you can get away without I always refit them. Should be a similar unit at the front too. I just bought a full set for Candice's car .... about £8.50 each which I nearly fell over at. I refit them as they help bridge between the inner and outer sill and help when your average tire centre idiot uses the actual jacking points. If your planning on running my rear beam design I'd be fitting them ...... more of that over a pint at the next club meeting ![]() Rog, Can you post a picture of the sling nut brackets you brought? I am indeed planning on running your rear beam design, I need to talk to you about that. I won't be around for the next club meet as I'm living in a Hotel in Crawley for my sins.
