Hi to all you Mini Turbo-ing experts & enthusiasts!

Looking to turbo (Garret T2 or 3 ?) a 1480cc block
to go into into a Mini for son/fun/whatever.

Will post elsewhere (e.g. on tech forum) but
thought I'd better intro myself first.

Looking to use mechanical fuel injection
e.g. Kugelfischer ex-old BMW

Guess cross-flow head is required ..suitable
for turbo i.e. strong with good cooling
.. any suggestions .. please .. thanks

Hi,
Welcome :) I think the BMW 8/16 valve head could be just the thing for you.
I presume you'll be using the K-Jetronic system?
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Hello PPJ

Hi Paul

Ever turbo-ed a Mini? Any info much appreciated.
We have a 1480, with a head that we can't use (don't ask)
Thinking of one of those ELDER cross-flow heads
We have the fuel pump (Kugelfischer) and turbo
from a BMW (don't ask!) .. we also have charge-cooler
from a Lotus Carlton (again, don't ask!)

BTW, I see that David Richards & Co have bought
your body and soul ... can't say what I really feel
for fear of being booted-off by Mr Moderator *wink*

Are you able, in your own time, to sprint a shell ?
We don't have (a) space or (b) time ........
we do have lots of carbon-fibre matting though
And aluminium sheets ....

Yes Dave Richards and the Kuwait Prime minister (Nasser).
It dont make any difference, just that we now have an unlimited budget.

Ive never torbo'd anything and I will be able to build you a Sprint shell next year sometime, Im fully booked until about May.

Paul

I seriously doubt it!

Adelaide Australia.

K1100 Is making waves over here is Aus as well, as an alternative to the fairly expensive Elder head, which is Aus made I might add!

Been talking to Ken Elder .. his heads aren't THAT expensive
for what they are .. shipping adds a lot, though.

He says his heads are good for 200 bhp
