Do you just want a gauge or the sensor and controller as well?

i bought the AEM one with sensor, boss, etc for £200 off ebay. not as many functions as the innovate like data logging etc but i'm never gonna use that and it's a lot cheaper than the innovate.

I was looking at the AEM one due to the price but have only ever used Innovate stuff in the past.
Anybody actually used both that could explain the difference or has an AEM manual I could look through? AEM site is a bit light on info......

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

I've got the AEM, keans got the Innovate XD-16 + LC-1. As far an AFR display in the dash goes then they're both the same. the innovate does have a slightly larger range, although the AEM does 10:1-17.9:1 which is more than enough imo.

i think the only extra's the innovate has over the aem is the data logging stuff when you hook it up to a PC. the aem is just a stand alone gauge but has a 5v output for ECU's aswell i think.

I just wanted it as an AFR gauge so went for the cheapest option tbh.

Does the AEM have two 5V outputs like the LC-1? One for a gauge and one for the ECU?

Yeah, the wire for the ecu comes out of the back of the gauge. i've got a feeling its got more than just one output too.

Its very very easy to fit, you just plug it all together and then put power and an earth on there. job done.

i'll dog out my instruction book sometime today.

All the signal processing guff is self contained within the AEM, so there is only one 0-5v output that can be used to do whatever you want, the other "output" for the gauge is wired internally. Its a dead simple piece of kit, we used it on Benross'es car to help get the fuelling somewhere close for running in and had it in and working in about 15 mins.

My AEM gauge also has an RS232 out put which can be access via HyperTerminal & the like, I supposed that could be used for data logging.

Ok guys, cheers ... another dent in the wallet. Plan to fit wide band for tuning Candice's engine and then swap it to a narrow once done.

The wideband will ultimately go into my own car but is likely to be 'mobile' throught the fleet as I work through them.

I like the look of the AEM ...... I just wanted to be sure it'd do what I want.

Thanks again.

Star Mag ... I have an Innovate controller built into the kit car for closed loop running but never bought the gauge.

I am much less worried about monitoring the AFR on that car as firstly it's injected and secondly if you have time to look at the dash your not driving it properly (or at all in my case as it's currently in bits!!!)

Iain ... thank you, that is what I was looking for ... off to read it right now

I think that to verify the siamesed port code on my NA 1275, I'm going to need something a bit sharper.

Looks like my existing Innovate LC-1, an LM-1 with the Aux box will let me monitor and log the two widebands, rpm and vacuum.

I cant see any other way to do it properly, but at £460 it's a bit steep.
