So, all set to spend the day sorting the small jobs for the minis MOT, i went out to my garage. When i got there it was already unlocked, opened it up and sure enough some little bastard has broken in.

Mini is still there and as far as i can tell hasn't been vandalised. Just in the process of listing what has gone missing now. So far, mountain bike, welder, flood lights, cordless drill, angle grinder. They've been through my toolbox too, but have yet to work out what's missing.

So that delays me a bit for completion. Yet another mini show in the golf i think. grrrr.

not sure about insurance, but probably. Been a weird day. Police were really good about it, they sent the fingerprint guys round to have a look. No joy there though. Loads of houses round here were done last night aparently.

Just after the police left, i got a phone call from a guy that lives up the road. He was walking down a path near our house and found a box full of mini parts (all recently ordered from min-its). Luckily all my details were on it, so he gave me a call and returned them.

Went to where he found them and my floodlights have been lobbed in to some dense bushes. Can't get to them without hacking through the bushes unfortunitely.

Cheers Tom, i've still got all the stupid jobs i listed the other day to do. The police didn't want me to move anything until they came round. And because of the postal strike not all my bits have turned up. Should have everything (including intercooler) by early this week. It's a really kind offer, but i've got no way of getting to S-bitch HQ. Cheers for the offer though bud. :)

cheers guys, that's really nice of you. But for the small amount of work that's left, it's not worth dragging it all the way to yorkshire and back.

I'll buy another drill and sort the electrics, fuel pump bracket and no plates during evenings this week. Might as well bite the bullet and order a wiper motor from min-its too. Funny... i'm sure i had one in the garage, must have got pinched too...

I'm not about at all over the 4th and 5th august, but i'll let you know if i need a hand after that. :)

just the motor, the one that's on there is goosed. As per TF advice going to pull the whole lot out and grease it anyway. Got new arms and blades to go on. They were in the box of bits that were recovered from the ditch.

Theiving Bastards - Been there a few years back - still counting the cost; all I would say is get a good lock on the door. We used to have a lockup in an old boat yard. There was 4 separate units inside of which we had one of them. One particcular night, they all got broken inot except our as thry could break the padlock (although you could see they had a good go as it had chib marks all over it). Still got it to this day - American Pro - cost a good bit but worth it

Unfortunaltey, these we bastards don't care. The best thing is to make sure nothing is obvious - no big 'snap-on' tool chests sitting out - mine gets locked away in a cupbard. Cover things up when not in use to prevent prying eyes when you are working with the door open etc

Keep an eye out after a couple of weeks. They tend to wait until the stuff has been replaced with new stuff, then come back and nick that too.

Big locks, thats the answer.

too right, i'm just about to order the largest concrete mount lock i can find. Also looking in to get a wireless cc tv cam hooked up to watch the drive and the cars.
