wellseal normally does the trick have you been round and checked all the bolts are tight? I tightend the bolts more, hoping it would sort it. Went for a drive, and still leaking. Hmmm bugger thing. Cant understand why ? Guess ill have to take it apart.. :( Shit Happen's |

best to start from scratch. Unbolt everything, clean...and bolt back up. On 19th Jan, 2010 wil_h said:

My guess is that its from the half moon seal between the engine and gearbox

Its worth double checking what is exactly leaking before attempting to remove this because if you can't swap it over like I just described then its engine out jobby! If it isn't the half moon seal, what else could it be. Ill have to check next week when im not to busy. So u used silicone and not sealant than steve ? Shit Happen's |

have you used the correct backplate to block gasket i used the wrong one omce and it pissed out. the difference was the shape around the bolt for the alternator bracket slightly different shape but enough to leak when you get a gasket kit they sometimes come with both types and theres not much difference with a quick glance Edited by Carl on 24th Feb, 2008. no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

will that be a problem ? I see there is 2 gaskets in th kit. Black and light bluie colour. which one do i use ? http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?pid=36081 Cheers.. Shit Happen's |

Sorry not the clevis pin. the pin that holds the gearbox rod change onto the other rod part coming out of the gearbox. cant remeber the name of the pin ? im crap at remebering names. They have been put on wrong way round, as there tapperd pins. so if i have to take the engine out, which i hope i dont. then its gonna be harder to get out.. Cheers. Shit Happen's |

They are parallel so should knock out both ways. Roll pin's the name then thanks for that matty.
I thought they were tapperd. well glad it should be ok to get out then, if thats the case.. hope not
Ill let you know what it is thats leaking when i get round to sorting it out this week or next. Yeah, if someone could comfirm what gasket it is also. Blueie coloured one, or black. Thanks alot. Shit Happen's |
