Well - given that it takes circa 1500 quid to have a vehicle collected in UK, shipped, then delivered to home (on east half of country) including import duty, and the base vehicle was probably 1500 quid in the UK, the price is not a million miles off the mark - it is 'going' in many places but is still pretty presentable and clean (for a 10yr approx - old mini) after all.

Most people in the US don't even know what a classic Mini is when they see one. So you can assume they would not know the difference between an early 60's vintage car that only few were ever sold here vs a 90's car that was never sold here.
