Thought i was doing o.k until i have had a look at some of the other minis on here. The restoration standards are really high. didnt even think to do anything to the underside of the car apart from weld it up and underseal it, never mind paint it. Am going to have to up my standards ALOT. I am happy to just have a mini i can drive and enjoy but seeing the quality of some of the cars here i see how people spend years on a project. I admire these peoples patience. |

Anyone have any advice on fitting a fibreglass flip front? would it be best to fit the front subframe with the engine. line up the a-panels with the flipfront weld them on and then remove the engine, subframe and flipfront and paint the whole car as one? has anyone had any problems with the fibreglass fronts becasuse the edge that meets with the scuttle panel is not a gradual curve at all. Really want to have the car done by the 22nd of june to go to the blackpool mini day. |

| cnt get the flipfront 2 fit. wel i can get the flipfront to meet with the a-panels and along the scuttle but its a stretch and would scratch the paint wen painted. have sanded quite alot off the back edge and am getting really close to the line down the centre of the bonnet. Any advice would be helpful. |

I can't offer much advice other than trim a bit put it back on, have a cup of tea whilst trying to work out what bit to trim next, then trim bit more. Repeat the whole process until you run out of tea bags, then buy some more and carry on with the above mentioned process. Isambard Kingdom Brunel said:

Thats what i had to do, i really wanted a perfect fit but i found it nigh on impossible. Had to make do with the best i could get it, i'm still not happy with the way it meets the A panels, the arch line is stepped so had to hide it with the arches, I used this for the wiring for the lights. http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?Module...nector&doy=26m4 http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?TabID=...o=1387&doy=26m4 133.5 bhp 123 lb torque 116mph @6640rpm 9.5psi
