A prat in a mondeo drove into the back of my mini, 3 times!



Id just pulled out of a parking space, aggreed i was taking a while but its difficult in a tightspot with no power steering and there was noone coming and there was loads of space, then a guy in a mondeo came along from off the roundabout, right up close behind me, and as i was pulling off i felt a nudge.... i presumed it was just a splutter from the engine.. but it wasnt. My engine cut off just a little bit further along the road (fuel pump crash sensor switch) and so my mini came to a halt, then the guy in the mondeo rammed me another TWO times!

I saw him getting out, so i got out too, and i got the attention of the people in the charity shop to be witnesses, as i was going back to the car, he had got back into his car and was trying to drive off arround my mini!!!

I stood in front of him, told him i had witnesses and forced him to pull over. to be honest i was worried he would run me over!

He got out, and i said, "so what went wrong, your brakes not work? did you not see me?"

he said - "no i just hate people taking too long, ill pay for that"

I cant beleive it!

I got my phone out, and started to ring the police, he asked "who are you phoning" and i told him, and he said no need i will pay for it.

I got his insurance certificate, his business card and his numbers, and told him my paints not going to be cheap. It needs boot lid, and the panel the boot hinges mount to is all bent, and my bumpers twisted.

After he left, i went into two more shops just to get witnesses and they all saw it happen, including a owner of a ladies clothes shop, they were all annoyed at him. I then went to the police station to check his insurance.

Just waiting for a quote from cossierick on this site, but its difficult to track down the paint.

It could have been worse, he could have hit just to the left and bent the rear quater panel worse, but im still really really annoyed about it.

I guess you have to get a full respray as opposed to just spray the back end, if so use it as an opportunity to get all the rust sorted before is painted.

That guy has some serious anger management problems. I would be very surprised if he hasn't been in trouble with the police before, and hence why he was so keen to just settle it quickly.

yep... this is my opportunity to get rust sorted! but wanted to get at least another year or so out of this paint :( dont think ill go for flip paint, the rear end will prbably cost as much as the whole car in a plain colour!

Yeah my thoughts were the same, anger management problems. the police station didnt care, and wouldnt let me report it, i phoned and went down to see them to try get one, they said if noone was injured and the car isnt blocking the road, then im wasting their time!

Milk his insurance for all its worth, if you need a full respray to get the colour to match then that what you should get! You shouldn't have to change the colour of the car because of cost if its on is insurance?

He has got to be taken off the road and you have got to get your car repaired to the condition it was before he tried to ram you off the road. Surely it's a police matter??!!
