Just got a metro rad through the post.

What's this middle connection and what do i do with it?:

Its for the rad fan switch. I'd put a rad fan switch in it personally.

The banana will fit as it is, but the switch won't *happy*

I know but of a pain! I got it out the box like that so someones obviously clouted it at some point, didnt pay much though and its not been used!

Ahh good-o, glad it wont be a mission to hunt round for then! Was it just a rad fan switch for a mk1 metro you asked for or are they on other rads aswell?

You're lucky to get a good Mk1 (with the inlet/outlet at the same end).

All the NOS I've seen on ebay has been Mk2 with the stubs at opposite ends, or they've wanted silly money for the Mk1. Both my donor Metros were Mk2 and both radiators were rotten.

That ding will straighten out easily.

minus the oil cooler that will be the same setup that i will be using! only just realised that its an ebay cooler up top on yours too! good to know how i can get it in!!

Looks like you will need the switch, the red plasting tang and the rubber seal in that ala SPi.

My local motorfactors got me a brand spanker for about 60.. expensive but worth it

rebuilding the car at the moment.. so the engine isnt in. You should be able to see this very soon tho in my build thread.

Mine was £45 quid new, typical i looked again yesterday and theres about 4 on ebay, so snap them up.

All look to be cheaper than what I paid aswell so go for it!

After you re-motivated me, I am now watching two on eBay (Mk1s) and they are cheaper (so far, until I get outbid) than six months ago.....

We shall see......

Mine was buy it now so I just snapped it up, as i get abit depressed when I get outbid at the last nanosecond haha!!

alright show off! im thinking on the bright side and its in great condition but the bad photos make it look bad *tongue*

we shall see, at £10 if it doesnt leak its will be a good spare to have around if im stuck for one in the future!
