Hello! Just thought I'd make a post to show you lot my vehicle in progress.

Started off with a 1978 Clubman I stripped back down to the bare shell.

Did loads of work welding new panels in.

Then I thought ... Why not just get a Heritage shell?!

Then started changing it to meet my needs 8)

Then I started adding bits!

Then I took a break to admire.

Thanks!

At the moment im just going for a weber, but once I have finished this, I am gonna start designing/ building a supercharger setup to put in. But I dont wanna take too much on, just wanna get it running n/a first!

Ive got the engine in bits at the moment, 1340cc, stage 4 head, 286 cam, s/c drop gears, weber 40.

Ive recently had a go at spraying the engine bay, havnt sprayed before, but I think it came out ok. Not ok enough to spray the whole thing myself though :$

No Laquer

With Laquer; it went alot darker with laquer, apparently I have put too much paint on, so its abit darker than planned, ohwell, all the better for disguising dirt and oil!

Just finished putting the front suspension in.

cool as, although i think while it was a shell i would have had it sprayed with no new parts added to minimise overspray *tongue*

I like nice quiet girly Minis

Going to be a nice car that.

I'm with Ollie, paint then build. Well actually I normally build the car up to check clearances and fits, strip to bare shell, paint then do the final build.

Nothing worse than a nice fresh build looking scruff as the paint bubbles around a hole you had to drill 2 days after painting to fit the whatyoumaflip you forgot you needed.

What is the colour? Very nice.

No such thing as too much paint mate ..... better to have too much on there so you can cut it back than just a whisp that you break through the first time to mop it.

Nice to see some proper suspension unter there too ..... coil overs are the way to go IMHO

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

Class build that mate, proper way of doing it.

Colour looks top. More paint in engine bay is probably better. Did you put the weber box in?

What are the top turret bolts? They look coned on top.

Thanks for the compliments!

There is abit too much paint in the engine by, apparently, when you put too much metallic paint on, all the metal flakes fall to the bottom so you cant see them.

Yeah, I welded the weber box in, then smoothed it in abit.

I turned two caps on the lathe to cover the two subframe bolts.

I wasnt really sure how to strengthen the rear suspension towers, but I think it should be alright.

Thanks again,

Ben.

Hello,

Made a small amoun of progress on my car so I thought I would post some more pictures for you all to see!

Got the car on all four wheels!

Bought a Roll Cage!

Said goodbye to my door bins!

Still need to tidy the door bins up.

Built my gearbox and diff.

(Yes I know, the bearing is on the wrong way!)

Drilled some random holes.

And made a internal boot lock/latch.

We'l be back next week with more or Berty and Friends when Berty bolts his gear box to the block!

I admire you're ability to cut up a brand new shell. I somehow feel guilty planning to cut the rear bins ect out of mine, when that has lots of new panels on and is definately not standard.

Gives me inspiration to crack out the air hacksaw and butcher mine (again)!

P.s The cars looking great.
