Hi guys, still not running using the megajolt, coilpack and edis 4.

It will tick over as i have turned the mixture down to rich, but will still not repsond to throttle
I have changed the coil pack and edis 4 unit.
I have a small amount of voltage at the pip and saw, which fluctuates on throttle, the little i can do before it cuts out.
At the vr sensor i have a flow of voltage, this does not fluctuate, its about 1.5 dc.
I have checked the wiring and all appears a ok
according to the timming light it is set at 10 degrees.
I have put my old dissy back in and set it up and it revs as it should.
I am unsure if the issue is with the timing as i have eliminated fueling.
I have attached some pics of the trigger wheel and timing mark, not sure if there is anything you can tell from the pics which may help.

Is the MJ talking to the EDIS module? Connect the laptop up and you should be able to tell quite quickly if they are talking to each other.

If it is set at 10 deg then the EDIS module and pickup must be working. You need to look at the megajolt setup.

Why do you seem to have two trigger wheels? are you sure the crank senor is at 90degs to TDC? Are you Running Map or throttle P sensor?

I suppose in theory i have two trigger wheels, i have my pully wheel machined with the intention of making my own bracket, then just went and brought a bracket and wheel from sc. In theory i am running a TPS off the inlet manifold, i have the TPS to connect up, but need to sort this first. I had it all setup not so long ago, the trigger wheel was adjusted accordingly, then it all went wrong. The trigger wheel is tightly fixed so i cannot see how is has moved.

Have you definitely got power to the MJ unit? 10 degrees is the fixed advance in the edis module? Plug your laptop in and see what its doing when its running?

on laptop it fluctuates between 10-12 degrees, just looking at the pics which is at TDC, the missing tooth would appear to be considerably out, according to the website this should around 10 teeth

The missig tooth sould be inline with the key on the crank if the bracket is at 9.00 o clock as you look at the crank.

Each tooth is 10 degrees apart. I got caught out by this, if you've got a strobe its best to check the figures on the strobe match those on the laptop. Mine were 20 odd degrees out! *surprised*

my strobe light is reading around 10 degrees, therefore suggesting it is out

I assume you mean you are running MAP off the inlet manifold and have tps to set up?

Also, what ignition advance mapping are you using?

Sorry, no I mean what values have you put into the megajolt grid for different RPM amd MAP readings.

Basically what advance curve have you entered?

It sounds like you are nearly there. If the car is running then the EDIS must be working and if you are getting RPM and advance feedback from the magajolt on the laptop then it sounds like your PIP signal is working. So check the SAW wiring. It is difficult to diagnose a problem like this with a keyboard.

I cant make any sense of those pics, where is the VR sensor?? Sticking a voltmeter on the pip and saw tells you nowt, they are waveforms not voltages.

You saying that you see 10 degrees seems to suggest that the MJ is NOT working.. its unlikely that any normal map would give an idle at exactly 10 degrees...

First thing, Unplug the MJ box (not the edis or anything else just the plug on the MJ) It should start and run, you should see 10 degrees advance and it should rev kinda OK though not great. The advance should stay at 10 degrees no matter what the revs or vacuum.

If thats OK then the edis, Coil pack and VR sensor are all Ok and the sensor is in the correct position. If its not then go over them all again.

Then its unlikely that you should be seeing 10 degrees unless you set 10 degrees across the whole map, go ahead and disconnect the Megajolt and see how it runs and what advance you have.
