who should build my engine and gearbox

basically... i want a full rebuild to a high spec along wtih gearbox(sc and diff ect)

where should i go? or who should i go to?


atm money isnt a matter jsut want some rough ideas

well mate more than happy to do your box mate.

as for engine get it bored out and skimmed at a local machine shop then build your self.

always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas

without sounding rude... can you build boxes well?

no offense taken mate, have built loads for peeps on here with no complaints yet ( touch wood).

except for miniwilliams keep trying to get his to explode but so fari think we that sorted now, mind you with 300 nannas going through it it is a tall ask.

turbo hogster work is top notch, unfortunatly at the moment all I can say is that it looks great, yet to put an engine on it an run it! (not happy bunny)

MED do an FIS short block with all the right bits (ARP bolts, cast Omegas, centre strap etc) for around £975 exchange. You could do it yourself cheaper but not by that much.

I am rebulding my box with SCCR bits and to be honest I am glad I gave it a go. It really isn't that hard at all.

im really not that good with engines at all... i would rather let someone do it proply lol... :)

im awaiting a couple of quotes atm... i will let you guys know what they are for what spec and let me know what you think :)

I run an MED 1293 turbo engine and its taken some serious abuse this year since I built it and its not let me down at all!

I got MED to do mine, basically because they are the closest.

However, I took it up to them early October, said take as long as you like but I want it back before the end of November. Picked it up last friday. Can't ask for more.

And this was a lot more than just a simple boring job.

if you dont mind me asking, those of you who have had engines built by med, full engiens how much am i going ot be looking at...

i will be running standard manifold and t3... on of nics plenums with a cossy intercooler... so do you think 150bhp is a resonalbe amount of power to aim for?

I have to say I am not a fan of med, but that's my own opinion.

I used MED to do me a very strong 1380. It wasnt cheap but worked really well untill i fitted a supercharger and then it malfunctioned in a big way!!
