Advanced Corporation Tax can never be too low in my opinion.

Got it *Idea*

He means "Air Charge Temperature"

The lower the better, but too low and you could cause icing or poor fuel atomisation.

Unless you are running some sort of cryogenic charge cooling setup....I doubt you'll ever get them too low.

Or are you racing in Antarctica ?

you could also get probs running toluene based fuels if its all too cold rob.

Medusa + injection = too much torque for the dyno ..https://youtu.be/qg5o0_tJxYM

A bloke I know running NoS on his skyline said that the inlet air would eventualy cool the inlet manifold to the point that the cold start injector would kick in. If you can get a mini to achieve this and control it then you can achieve the optimum inlet charge temp and hold it! As I have been told in the past inlet air temp (IAT) is directly proportional to EGT and TGT.

As Paul says Air Charge Temperature, I thought it was a common abbreviation but obviously not.

Skylines have a cold start injector ???? thats new.

I also doubt it would affect water temperature enough for it to think the engine was cold.

I think this bloke might be talking poo.

When I run my larger shots of nitrous which is direct port and downstream of the IAT sensor I see on my data logs that my intake temp on a hot day at santa pod will drop from 35* at the begining of the run to 5* at the end! and due to this the ECU will add some extra fuel due to the IAT compenstation within the ECU map.

Yes you cab Alex on and mini with an SU carb. I appreciate I don’t know what I’m talking about compared to you, as I’ve only have and proven the power of my car at the 200 + bhp level for years, and run it on the track a few times giving ok times and speeds.

But just to let every one else know, who doesn’t know about your expert in this field.
SU carbs can’t add more or less fuel as the air temps change, so if your set up for a normal day, and the out side temps drop and your ACT drops, this will not be ideal for the engine as it runs a different Air Fuel ratio, because of the different in the airs temp density’s, also if act goes to low the carb can start to freezes up and the car runs VERY badly when this happens!

These are my thoughts on years of mini turbo building, but I no nothing and only have one of the most powerful cars out there.

Cut off points change car to car Rob.

Hi Matt is there a spec for your motor anywhere on the interweb or is it top secret?

Carb freezing uop would be too low.

IMO if you can get them down to around 5-10deg, that would be just great.
