I've decided to get a lambda fitted into my exhaust for when my car gets back on the road. I've found a bloke selling universal ones ebay, you reckon they'll be ok for the job?
here's the link http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZecuworld
just need to know which one to get... 1/2/3/4 wires???

Nick :)

1 wire dosnt have a heater fitted so it is slower to respond when cold I think it is just the 3 and 4 that have the heater fitted but it is easy to find inf on the web the wiring is simple.

i often wonder if you need a heated one if you always let the car warm up before driving it

So is the 4 wire one from the first link for £22 ok to use with a seperate gauge? Any way of finding out which wires go where? Going to use with the win SU program to get the needle right.

Good idea in theory, but from when I have used WinSU before, I doubt you will get anywhere near the right needle, as it only lists the standard ones. To get the right one for turbo use most people start with a standard one and then file it to suit.

Hi,
I'd put a fuse in the heater circuit... Try a 10amp blade fuse, if it blows go up a size *wink*
Cheers,

From my experience, to get a true reading all the time, get the heated one. When the element cools off at idle and just abouve it will read rich when its not. It took me ages to figure this out on my SPI and it was the relay that was boloxed, heard it click when energised, there was 12volts there, but nothing out.

Trust me, non heated Lambdas will at some point give you a duff reading even with it on the elbow of the turbo

i just grabbed a 2nd hand one from an MGF off ebay....

its not heated yet but works fine with my autoguage meter.

might try and heat it tho, as you explained it does read rich at idle somtimes.

check the thread for its mounting too, i had to find a nut with a strange thread for mine for fit too.

Hi!

Feebleuk's wiring is ok!
Nonheated sensors show bshit when cold; would never fit a one wire sensor again.
I am selling fuel mixture kits with calibrated LED display, welding bung and new 3 wire Bosch sensor for 70 pounds + postage.
