A few friends clubbed together and got me some machinemart vouchers for a birthday present. Now i've got a fair amount of tools and to be honest and nothing quite jumps to me that i need right now so throwing it out to you guys for some ideas.

Budget is £200 but with one of the vat free vouchers, it could stretch to something reasonably substantial

Already got tool chest, roller cab etc...

Got a pillar drill. Ally jack is a good call. Bike lift perhaps...

Blast cabinet?

a blast cabinets a good shout, i don't know how i did without one before i got mine

Already got a blast cabinet but wondering if a blast pot thing would be useful....

Or the boring stuff like replacing those old scratched safety glasses. I was amazed after I finally got new ones, made working so much easier

been trying to think what i would spend it on but still not thought of anything, probably a new tool box but then i have no where for it anyway lol
plasma cutter sounds like a plan but a TIG is probably all i would want and the mid range ones on seem to have a plasma cutter function aswell
so i still have not thought of anything for £200 lol

got a half decent compressor and some air tools. The guy we share the shed with has just invested in a TIG welder as well and for all the time i'll use it, can't justify buying one as well when I can borrow.

Was thinking about a battery impact driver but not sure how good the MM ones are.

If you have not got a Black and Decker Powerfile then that is a very useful purchase along with some blue belts to go with it. Forget the brown belts, they are only any use on timber.

nice mesument tools for engine building to do your own checks i dont trust the shops all that much

power file has come up a couple of times Tom and I don't have one; will need to look into it as an option.

As for a band saw, I'm not sure what I'd use it for

cheers tom. I'm also looking at a new compound mitre saw now as well. I've got one already but it is void of any safety guards and with my luck with power tools, it could be a wise choice as well

I have the equivalent air tool to the powerfile and don't know how I ever managed without one

I would consider the airtool one but the electric one may be handy about the house too

I have the B&D one too... Also the blue zirconium belts from some bloke on eBay.. It's quality, not just for the cars, anything around the house.... I fully recommend it!
