here's my new car, picked it up last saturday, its a mayfair, rebuilt with a 1380 engine, 1.5 rockers 286 cam, weber, straight cuts, modded head. made 111 bananas @ flywheel in feb.
i would love to turbo it but i want to take it hillclimbing so i dont want to end up in a class which i have no chance in!

Looks great buddy, also a good candidate for a MegaJolt conversion I'd say to make a few more bananas and make it a lot more driveable too.

i have a mega squirt so mapped ignition is definatley on the list for future mods.
it is bloody quick, i cant imagine what it must be like for you guys in your cars with all those bananas !!!

Hi,
Looks sweet! The mapped ignition will make a great difference off cam. You don't want 1.5 rockers on a 286 cam *surprised* I'm running 1.3 as per Pipers recomendation.

Mini Magazine cover car November 2005. Obviously the guy got bored of it.

yeahit was in mini mag, its changed a bit since the feature, he was nearly in tears selling it. he is moving house and his bird wants new kitchen or something. poor guy :(

Women, do they not understand, once the kitchen is finished the bloke will be back out in the garage again building another, and they'll be whinging about that too.

(however, my missus is very tollerant, and a bunch of flowers and Freddo the Frog goes a long way).

got a bit of an update now, been working on fitting up a megasquirt system to the car for a while now, its been slow progress but its nearly there now!
heres a few pics:

i "borrowed" feebleuk's idea of sticking a computer heatsink on the back of the ignition module to help keep it a bit cooler.

the ignition module is mounted on the inner wing, and i have spaced it away a bit so the air can circulate behind it.
i dont know how it will tolerate being behind the grill when its raining so i may have to put some sort of plastic sheild in front of it.

coil pack mounted in the usual spot where a few people seem to have mounted it.

i am using a KAD trigger wheel and sensor bracket, its a new version with a CNC'd wheel, its supposed to be stiffer than the old laser cut wheel and it definatley feels stiff.
i am a bit pissed though, as you can probably see the braket for the sensor will just be touching/be VERY close to the fan belt once its tightened, so i will need to grind it back a bit :( not good considering the price of this kit.

its just waiting to be unleashed again!!
