A month on and not much left to do.

Having loads of issues with the brakes atm.. First the master cylinder leaks.. (A new item) now the piston seals in the callipers are leaking, these are also new, but have sat for a few years doing not much.- have some new seals on order so should get this done soon.

This has given me time to sort some of the more 'cosmetic' jobs out.

Dash is now in, all wired up and ready to go.

And the engine bay is 99% done, bracket have been sorted to support the intercooler etc.

Just the air filter and oil cooler to position.

Very very nice Mark.

i/c mounts look good too, are they mounted onto a bar thats been glassed into the flipfront?

Dash layout looks really tidy, nice one!

thanks, yeah , box glassed onto the front, loosing the inner wings and front removes most of the mounting space.

For example the washer bottle and catch tank are both in the wheel arches.

Dash came out a treat, mat black with a removable panel made from gloss black Perspex hold the speedo etc and allows some access to the mass of wires hiding behind.

thanks for the comments guys :)

yep, the dash is fibreglass.

Been working on the car again tonight, i now have a rear view mirror, door cards, and now you can even get out once inside as the doors open.. always a bonus.

(had the door lock leaver / opener things on the wrong door.. left on the right etc.)

Quick update.. only the brakes are stopping me from getting the MOT sorted..

the calipers wont stop dripping.. not from the seals anymore but the bleed screws.

any tips on how to stop metro 4 pots leaking?

thinking of throwing them in the bin and starting again..

but they were a few hundred quid new.. fecking things.

mate are they leaking from around the thread or actually out of the nipple?

dont think it will mate as they seal on the seat at the bottom and not around the thread.
i would double check they are correct profile? i.e concave or convex, i think they should be concave so as you screw them down the 2 halves of the seats form the seal?
also if there are any cracks around the thread in the caliper itself?
after that i cant think of anything else.

To make sure its around the thread and not through the nipple just slip a pipe on the end of the nipple.

If it is still coming from around the nipple then its the threads, if its coming out of the pipe then its the nipple/seat.

Surely wherever the fluid appears from, it has got to be a poor seal on the seat to let the fluid out in the first place?

I would remove the nipples and inspect for debris or damage on the seat in the caliper body and also on the end of the nipple. If they are old nipples then replace them with new.

but the threads should be able to contain the fluid, why when you crack the nipple off to bleed the brakes does the fluid only come from the nipple and not through the threads also?

If its coming out from around the threads and not through the actual nipple then something very strange is happening!

Very close to be a road going car! A very few small jobs to do but its basically finished!

Need to get it taxed and tested, insured, visit a rolling road and to have the suspension set up.

Since my last post I have changed the brakes, Jamie (fordimus maximus) gave me his while his is motor is off the road, cheers mate :)

I have fitted the bumpers, and completed some other minor bits.

Kean (T2Clubby) popped round again and fixed an issue i was having with the clutch.. much more involved that we first thought but it sorted in the end, so a massive thanks also goes to him.

Next update should be after the mot and set up etc. Im well happy with it so far, hope you like *happy*
