well she is ready for the final lift, do you reckon a few lads could lift this in situ bearing in mind the whole front end comes off ? Richie Sturgeo and I lifted my engine in, no problems. I sat the car on the discs and put several building blocks in the engine bay. Lifted engine onto another set of blocks in front of the car, then over onto the blocks in the engine bay. Then lifted car to meet engine mounts, took the blocks out and worked from there. Lots of grunts and you will be fine. was just recalling the faff with putting the drive shafts in, i think i will jack the car up then as you say from one set of blocks onto the next, I am busy organising getting custom boost pipes made, th only joining peices i want is the plenum and the outlets on the cooler. i was hoping to bolt the pipe straight onto the turbo and not use the lil pipe doodad a guy i know who does me tig welding has a pipe bender and makes custom exhausts so i will keep you posted on that contact if its of interest to others.

well had a second crack at it and managed to lift the engine in. i am at the "try to make stuff fit" stage going with a front mounted rad, the oil cooler will go to the right of it, and the intercooler above the rad. its a maze of shit to negotiate through due to having a servo. i will get me cooler modded i reckon, i was thinking of having the right hand side(near the water pump) so it comes out the end of the cooler, not sure what to go for. here are some piccies though.

i should point out that everything is just resting in situ (rad etc that is) but it clears the alternator for sure.

Just twist the standard starter so the solenoid is on top. You'll need to drill a new hole in the clutch housing though! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fusion-Fabri..._homepage_panel

I changed mine to an inertia starter motor and ground the clutch housing back. I'd rotate your thermostat housing too, that gives a bit more room. |
