Hi I'd just like to confirm that Colin Wright in class B was not running Gas at all, we had a bottle with us in the tow car - which wasn't even for dads car, it was for Darrell with the Shed.

TurboDave, before you go shouting your mouth off please try getting your facts correct. Yes he has previously run gas - but it has never been hidden. The bottle sits between the Drivers and passengers seats, on the tunnel. Hidden - not at all. Why is it there - because the car is a daily runner and it seemed to be the best place to have it - you can still get four up in it and the boot is free to use.

I'm not trying to be arsey - but there have been claims that its hidden under the seats and allsorts on here previously. We have had people come up and ask about it and dad has always been open about the fact of using gas previously and pointed to the bottle.

The car is 100% road legal. Nitrous is road legal - so whats the problem. Up until a couple of years ago the car even used to tow a trailer there!

The only reason he didn't use gas this year was due to all the comments on here. We got to the event this year, were speaking to John Haston, who in my opinion has the most incredible mini, amazing times and such attention to detail, a race car like no other. He asked about the gas and Dad said he had taken it off due to the bitching on here. And his comment was your a fool for paying attention to it - put the gas back on and carry on running in class B.

Great weekend all in all - big congrats to Carl - the car seemed to run the best we have seen for a while. John Haston for incredible times, and Tom and Carl for forgetting all the bitching on here - getting an MOT on the DON and running in Class D.

For anyone who is interested the gas is back on for Santa Pod. But I really don't see why it causes such a fuss. Spend your time looking at cars worth looking at like Paul Wiggintons - it is a work of art, and not far behind you guys which is amazing considering it is 100% road legal and not forced inducted or running gas. Keep up the good work Paul - good speaking to you at avon.

I have been thinking about the giggle gas since Avon. Might try that instead of the turbo, would save on cramming the engine bay with all those extra hoses :)

I think i will contact BMC on the nitrous issue and get them to clarify once and for all.
Personally I dont think it should be in the road classes as anyone can just 'put in a bit more gas' than everyone else to win but the car may not be worthy through the detail, engineering, spec etec.
