It's 1665cc.

A bit big for the 998 but probably about right for a 1275.

That's using 100mm tube. At 80mm tube it would have been around 1050cc. That would have been too small for 998 or 1275.

Yes, I had that figure in mind. I'm sure I read it on here somewhere.

Final touches before the engine goes in the car to finish the Siamesed code trials.

Sorted the oil drain and breather.

At last, the engine is in the car:

You can just see the new Cooper S calipers as well.

Bit of plumbing and wiring to do tomorrow.

Woo Hooo

It's alive.

Just ran it up on a carb and dizzy to bed the cam in. 2000rpm for 20 mins will do for now.

First positive step forward since seizing the 1275 EFi test mule engine in Febraury.

Couple of oil leaks, oil presure gauge connection and a rear tappet chest cover bolt seal. Easy to fix.

I'm going to refit the Megasquirt and coil pack this afternoon.

I'll soon be able to resume the Siamese code trials on the EFi.

6 weeks to Avon. I wonder *Shooting*

Excellent news, my offer of a 998T prize was obviously what was needed.

Good luck

Just got to fit the EFi inlet manifold, fit a new pedal box and brake master, make some brake pipes and get the clutch working.

Then I can resume the Siamesed code trials. Got to get the instruments for logging CHTs and EGTs working so that I can check distribution with the one lambda once the turbo is fitted.

I've ordered a Pace intercooler core so that I can make an intercooler to fit without any bonnet or grille mods.

Then fit the turbo etc etc.

If I can get a few Fridays off work, Avon may be a possibility.

3 years on and I finally have the turbo fitted.

I know the Dump Valve is not in the ideal place and that has caused the intercooler pipes to kink - hopefully get that sorted next week. Need to move the throttle body to get the DV in between the TB and intercooler, then the problem with the pipes should be resolved.

Bought a Fiat Uno Turbo intercooler as a temporary measure whilst I hone my welding skills to finish making my own.

Hopefully do some road testing tomorrow to see if we have boost.

I thought it was best just before the throttle disc :-

what i'm thinking is when the throttle shuts if the air is dumped before the cooler it will have less going through it, so will cool down quicker.
