I want a engine reliability to do some miles with no problems.
Wich is the beste choice?
A 1380 in a metro turbo block, or a 1293 in a montego block?

Well, 1380s do seem to survive, but I'd go 1293. Then you've got the block longer.

Hi,
They did do an A series in the Montego / Maestro. It had a VW g/box cobbled on the end of it.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

The montego block that I have is the the same from the pic, A+.
1380 will be the best option, and I can still use a metro turbo block, abd with the montego block I can make a 1293.
witch is the best choice?

Hi,
1380 every time *wink* I've heard of no reliablity problems with expensive pistons used. I'm guessing you'll have to buy pistons either way. a 1380 will make the same power as the 1293, but with less boost. You could go the other way, use the same boost but have more power :)
Cheers,
Gavin :)

The Montego/ Maestro 1.3 block is an A+ block, as has already been said, the oil filter is above the starter. No reason why this would be any different boring to 1380 than a normal A+ block. The block will also fit the Transverse transmission, though i do not know what is required to make it so, i dont think its much.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

If you add 40cm of gearbox on one side of the Mini engine. Will it fit?

Think!
