(1) So Would i notice alot in power at 7psi if just
running with the solenoid disconected ?

(2) The car already has a gauge.
So where it has 0.2, up to 1.0 on the gauge. I take it the 0.4 means 4 boost and so on ?
http://allyoucanupload.webshots.com/v/2000018904971931507

(3) And as the gauge is already connected up. when i adjust the valve, would it read right away on the gauge. or do i somehow have to connect the gauge to the valve to give me that reading :)?

The gauge sounds like it's in bar, with 1 bar equaling roughly 14 psi.

I'm no expert so wait until someone comes along to confirm this but if you add an intercooler you can run 10 psi safely. I take it the engine is on the standard gearbox and clutch? 10 psi will probably be the limit with this setup then. But hey as I say, I'm only answering this becasue none of the proper turbo people are. Where is everybody?

Hi,
Right then.
The pipe from the middle of the bleed valve on page one should go to the air filter if your doing it properly, most people leave it hanging around.
Solenoid, take the wires and pipe off and forget about it.
Your gauge in the picture is in bar. 1bar = 14 psi or lots of pints. Therefore 0.5 bar would be .... 7psi.
Next what you've got to think about it that engine and gearbox you're about to wind the boost up on is now 20 years old.
The fact that your almost doubling the amount of boost is going to put a lot more strain on everything, which will sooner or later cause it to go horribly wrong, unless you KNOW it's been recently rebuilt to a good standard.
That amount of boost isn't a problem on a fresh engine but could well see off a tired old one.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

will engine age effect how long it lasts, because surely a 20 year old engine with 30k would stand up better than a 10 year old engine with 60k to boost increases.

Yeah, engine was built good since 7000miles. when u say The pipe from the middle of the bleed valve should go to the air filter. do you mean buy a little filter and attach it to the end of the pipe ?

Hi,
Minimole: All depends on abuse / use before you get it!
Mini UK: Yes you can do that or connect it into the air filter, there should be a small pipe coming off it already on a Metro.

Gavin :)

Mini_UK- Not being rude but you seem to not really grasp the basics of how to do this, where are you based, I'm sure that there would be someone close by willing to do this for you for some beer money, I think this would be better.

Hi,
If the regulator is set correctly, it will increase the fuel pressure as the boost goes up automatically, that's it's job *wink*
In How to or FAQ (can't remember) there's a post telling you how to do the initial setting up.
Please get the fuelling checked on the rolling road BEFORE you boot it up the road and melt the pistons....
Cheers,
Gavin :)
