He obviously has 2 sets of wheels and tryes, maybe to change the gearing for different circuits.

I think he has the ankers on hard on this picture, hence it looks so low.

Cheers for clarifying that Will,

Bah, I was hopinng the would stick out 10mm less than a superlight, back to the drawing board...

I couldn't get mine sensibly any lower than it is.

and to confirm, the minispeed wheels stick out 10mm further than a superlite.

And the wheel nuts are supplied with the wheels. They're like a cross between a normal nut and a revolution sleeved nut.

It's always good to be lower, stops the thing wanting to tip over. But the geometry just won't let you get any lower.

Have you dropped the subframe like jim and sprocket were talking about the other week? (removing the spacer between the subframe and body and making new floor mounts)

What does dropping the subframe do?

Brings the subframe (wheels) up, so the body lower. To maximise slammage.

Pretty sure thats why anyway.

No I haven't Nic. Doing it has a lot more concequences than you might think.

Easy to do at the start of a project. but a pain if it's already done.

Maybe next time!

Is it just a case of raising all the holes in the floor, and the front sub mounts?

EDIT: Im guessing the top engine steady has to be modified aswell, to allow for the engine being raised.

At a guess, you wouldnt be able to move the mounts upwards without modding them. I think the front of the subframe would tilt upward slightly.

As a retro mod it is a pain because everything is connected the front subframe. It would mean remounting the front end, brace bars, intercooler, exhaust and a few other bits that would possibly foul.

I think I may get the grinder out on mine though as I have nothing mounted yet.

Ahh, the fortec body kit.

The Miglias are available in standard (what I and the Migs use) and wide. I can't imagine what you would need the wides for.

Spoke to Curley and the wide Migilas are 15mm wider than standard Miglias.

Ive ordered the wide ones as they are the same price and can always be cut down.

And, I may be wrong, but im pretty sure in those pics, Bill Richards has the wide ones fitted.
