it looks soooo good ! i know it would be a crime, but i would sorely be tempted onto a mk1 wide slat morris cooper grille, it would be so wrong to do it to the car but it would look nice.

Richie

well done ! i hope mine turns out a fraction as good as yours has.....now get it into the mini mags.....

CUT THE GRILL OUT? AAAARRRRHHHH

it cost quite a bit to retain the original grill. I purchased a restoration quality van front panel from Somerford minispares and it was nothing like the original panel and cost almost twice the price. The body shop cut the crap grill insert out and cut the grill out the original panel and welded them together. so i would estimate i spent 3 times the cost of a standard front panel just to retain the grill.

the cage fits but it took some fitting! i cut the diagonal out so i can use the back of the van. then the rear legs to the arches were too short so extended them with tube frim the diagonal. the door bars were shaped to fit around the Mk1 door bins but i couldnt fit the seat so moved the mounting bracket and made a door bar from the diagonal. just need one more straight door bar

You cannot cut out the diagonal. What's the point of the cage then? Also, cutting the rear legs in half and extending them is a no no. You'll need to change them at the main hoop if you don't want it to fold in a shunt.
