sorry I was wrong, class b is upto 1380 not 1340 so with a multiplier of 1.4 that would mean I need 985cc or under. On 15th May, 2009 TurboDave said:

Jimster, I may be reading the regs again and I can find no mention of a multipler just "c) Forced induction systems are allowed (but may change the permitted class)"

Just talked to Rich at Minispares. They don't do them anymore. That means you'll have to get a billet one from the usueal suspects if you're not lucky enough to find a suiteable one elsewhere. On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:

thinking now of 1275 block, billet crank, and long rods. That should rev a bit! On 15th May, 2009 TurboDave said:

don,t know about bmw head , but be aware all these changes of bore size and the need to get the 16 valves in without too much buggering about ; worked this out looking at keeping turbo'd KAD engine under 1400cc with 1.4 add [ difficult with BV head , which is wot i've got] |

I have read, and read, and read those regs and there is no mention of a forced induction multiplier as I stated in my previous thread.

as i said long ago Mighty minis dont have proper regulations so it would not suprise me to find out there is no multiplyer for turboing. they make up the rules as they go along to make things fair, so if you go balls out they will change the regs and you could end up in a class on your own. |

mighty minis have regs but they have so many holes in them you would not beleive. they are not proper regs as Roger found out the costs and wrote them himself, thus the joke that is mighty minis.

I've read both, found them pretty clear to be honest, I've spoken to Roger the multiplyer for forced induction is as in the blue book, (ie 1.4x) On 15th May, 2009 TurboDave said:

Jim you would be in extreme mighty minis so would not have a problem. its the standard mighty minis and super mighty minis that have problems with poor regs. the extreme mighty's dont have too many rules so are ok.

I have thought about using a 1275cc block with a 970 crank.Theres not enough metal in the deck to leave a reasonable thickness, although if the pistons were left down the bore a bit to lower the compression ratio this would save having to grind the "beak" of the standard combustion chamber shape as with most turbo heads.I enquired with Farndons about a billet 970 crank and some special longer rods. The price was around £2000,on first thoughts it seems like a lot of money, but the more you think about it the more it seems like a good idea. The ultimate sub 1 litre turbo screamer.
