If you take the bottom pulley off it is in the crankshaft there you can't miss it.

Does sound like a ignition or cam timing problem

Hi,
The one you're talking about at the flywheels end is your problem.
Where I think you've gone wrong is you put the flywheel on 180 degrees out. The slot in the flywheel and the crank are slightly offset, if you get it 180 degrees out it doesn't tighten down properly.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

He has checked the engine turns over and the dizzy is spinning so it's not a fly wheel problem as the eninge is turning.

To me sounds like a ignition timing problem, not meaning to be rude to zeemax have you checked the leads are on in the right order?

thank you matty pint with your name on it. Wasnt tight only hand tight. Locking washer doesnt look like the tabes on it and the washer that goes behind the centre bolt has smashed into pieces. is this cos it hasnt been tight enough?

As Bat says the washer, flywheel and crank all have a machined slot/drive peg which is NOT centered. If you get one in a the wrong way round then it will be completely reliant on the bolt and pegs on the washer driving the flywheel, instead of transfering power through the taper!

This is very likely to cause them to break as alot of the drive is usually transfered through the taper, hence the reason why alot of people lap them in to make sure that the greatest possible area between the two surfaces is in contact.

I would strongly reccomend checking both surfaces, (flywheel and crank to make sure their not damaged) You may be lucky! If you are then you should lap them in with some grinding paste to make sure. *wink*
