I heard a Se7en got a high 15 seconds

Remember that the se7en driver was Deviny who is pure class whilst the Mig drivers were Sarah Munns and Gordon Pocock who are both reasonable but still mid field.

In a race the fastest Se7en is equal to the slower miglias.

It was Sarah and someone else I saw do 16s!!

I was shocked as they are always touted as the fastest things (ever).

My racer on slicks with about 120bhp did a 14.6........ and thats not eactly quick but then again the engine cost less than 500 quid all in!

I competed against Sarah Munns at the Brighton Speed trials one year when she told me about her 150bhp engine just been dynoed on PB rolling road etc (Miglia 1293).

I am looking at the certificate on the wall and my time then was 14.29 (Madeira Drive is not and never will be Santa Pod or Avon Park) she did a 15.3 at the same time. My car was 600kg then.

What you have to bear in mind is Miglias have to go around corners - please see Roger M's signature for further clarification on this matter.::)

Tom how did you manage a 109 on a 3.9cwp, i could only manage 94 on a 3.7 at york flat out at 7000 rpm. I was running 12" wheels and obviously your on 13's didnt think theyed make that much difference.

The migs times didnt seam that impressive but as scruffy says thair designed to go round corners as fast as poss, the suspension set up is far superior.

John Hastons best time as far as I'm aware was a 12.2sec pass, I think this is also a personal best for John so a big well done to him.

Considering the previous run he managed to melt three spark plug electrodes, mmm running a little lean*surprised* Swapped out the fuel jets (Webber or nitrous jets, i dont know) for slightly bigger ones and won the class as well making it the fastest A series of the day. AWESOME. He should enter that car in the consourse as well*tongue*

Dude, there must be something wrong with your box, or its not a 3.7 FD

I run a 3.7 FD and at 6800rpm it does 103mph, as per the rollers*wink*

PS: 13s are smaller than 12s

My RR print out shows 9050rpm on a 3.9 with A032Rs on 6.5x10s as 121.2 - this means for Tom to do a 109 was pulling 8139rpm!

Been using this forum for a long time now and first time that has happened - makes me look a right c*ck. Wonder if this had anything to do with it as this happened in the middle of this

Anyway 109.78 is 8197rpm which is easily possible on the DON

As Nick (scruffy) says the DON does rev to 8200rpm.

In actual fact a few things have just clicked in my mind; I am sure the soft cut rev limiter is set at 8200rpm, and once or twice I'm sure I felt the car starting to hold back reaching the quarter mile point, I think it was the soft cut limiter starting to take effect, will have to up that by a few hundred revs and see if the terminal speed can be bettered.

This is part of it, however, my car is designed to go round corners and is in no way a drag car (4.1 diff) but I still managed a 13.5.

The point is that Migs are touted a ballistic, everyone doubted it and here is the proof. The regs are the real reason why they are not faster, they are still going pretty fast considering what they can and can't do.

I think the real reason why they are slower than us on the 1/4 is they have around 80bhp, & 80 lbs less than us. Also a lot heavier than most of us. (not me) there 660kgs I doubt TT2 is anywhere near that.

This what I'm saying, considering the limitations of the regs they ARE fast. But that they claim 0-60 or 4.5 seconds is obviously bollocks.

There is no shame in that.

Try again, I am sure it is a 2L + 16v Zetec lump with a HUUUGE turbo and bags of NO2 on an Auto box

I know its auto as i had a good look around it the other day, Axel thought it was a 2L zetec.

I found a brief spec on a website and it said it used to be a 1926cc block with a RS turbo head, its now got a zetec engine.

EDIT:Stuart has said that it made 650bhp @7000rpm on a dyno and thats using 130bhp shot of nitrous and 28psi boost. He thinks that the engine is capable of around 100bhp more but wants to get the car to go in a straight line first.
