Pretty much a nuns chuff yeah - my plenum had actually started tapping the bulkhead before I swapped to solid engine mounts!

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

I use std length steadies, std subby etc and its tight but fits.

My downpipe had to be cut and shut a lot! i need to tidy it up when it comes out next month for a few bits of work.

Hi,
Try an MPi tie bar, should be a little bit longer might just do the job *wink*
Have you tried a N/A inlet manifold?
Cheers,
Gavin :)

sorry mate no, because cut along the weld and add a bit more of a wedge out.

also i shortened the turbo elbow and the down pipe to get it further up so the curve was closer to the floor pan.

I'll get some pics in a few weeks when it comes out. it needs some more work really.

I started chopping the down pipe about last nite, decided to wait till my exhaust turns up, so Ive got a point to work to, but I have had the same thought to what you have just mentioned, so at least i know im on the right lines. You can see by how far the studs are out when the set in the down pipe is where it needs to be to clear the pot that there needs to be an adjustment to the elbow.

Progree has ground to a hault this week due to waiting for so many parts, some finally arrived so heres the update.

Coil pack bracket made up and fitted ever slave cylinder, will have to rethink this when I finally do the pre verto conversion, but will do fo now.

MJ cables nearly all in, just need to decide where the lives are coming from, and mount the edis etc.

The 90s i need for my ic arrived but am still waiting for the 45s so havent got far, Nic has hopefully sorted my plenum fr me, am hoping that both that and the 45s will be here tomorrow, if they arrive I can the fab a mount for the ic core.

Want to tig an ali mount on to the tube to secure it to the rocker pedistal.
To top my eve off I managed to convert a brand new unused minispares 2core rad into scrap by dropping a grille on it, not happy!!

Lmao, now theres an idea, can imagine the conversation now, "can you explain Mr pearce why you have sent a radiator back that you purchased over a year ago and have had painted, claiming it was damaged by our currior?" Shame it wasnt that easy, I built the engine up last winter, and bought it then, shame, lol

Had the last two days off, and have spent the afternoons playing with the car, and progress is as follows.

A birthday prezzy off one of my mates, fits a treat and is nice and shiney!

MJ is now mounted and wired less 12v supply and tacho.

Crankcase breather now sorted.

And the plenum is now fitted, next am planning to mount the fpr, and plumb all the fuel and boost side of things in.
Im still waiting for minisport to pull thier finger out and sort/send my exhaust and oil, as soon as these arrive then I can sort my downpipe issue, then hopefully spin her over.
Cheers

Run a feed direct from the battery (via a relay).

Just did the same MJ Feed/supply with mine. The Ballest resistor runs all the back up the loom to a point were it joins the White ingnition wire. Remove and replace. also worth a 5amp inline fuse for the MJ. And 15amp for the EDIS.

Jobs a good one. *wink*

Managed to get a fair bit done this weekend, which has supprised me as I spent ost of the day at work yesterday. Most of the stuff in the bay is now all in and tightened up and staying that way!!! (the amount of times the manifold etc has been out is unreal) New rad is in, and this one made it in in one piece! Turbo elbow and down pipe are all welded back together and are in, all the is left to be done id fabricate a clam to support the down pipe.

The IC is out for a lick of paint, but when dry that can now be fitted and stay there. All fuel hoses are cut to length, just couldnt get any jubile clips today, son as I have them thats the pipework done.
Other jobs left erm...... wire bleed solenoid, and relays for fuel pump, and light for the boost gauge.

Then after I have proved the MJ works (will be tested off a spare battery for the supply before I start connecting it into the car loom) I just got to put this lot to rights.

Still need to swap hubs and brakes over for the 8.4" Fit the new cylinder head which is in uncle steves capable hands, then its time for the rollers!
Still loads to do lol!
