Hi,
If the head is under warranty and you work on it and then it has a serious failure, probably not your fault, they won't honour the warranty....

i guess i would use the rocker shaft to put some sort of lever under and compress the spring? i can make a tool in work, i have an idea about one but a pic would be cool, cheers

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

pull the head and change the seals
get them from minispares

no tools .... and done in under 3 hours with 2 big pots of tea

bit of an update, changed the valve guides to the manganese bronze do das from mini sport. The inlets on mine didnt fit at all, the guide was to big to start with, bt luckyly they were ok.
Changed all the exhaust ones, reamed them all to 8mm and presto no smoke.

I must say the job morespeed done was poor, im not saying it as a novice, im a machinist and know my stuff. The one guide wasnt drilled central, it was in the centre on the top and to the one side on the bottom and as slack as s==t with over 0.15 mm of play.the car is now quieter and runs fab

Just goes to show, just because it's been rebuilt doesn't mean it's ok...
