I heard a story from a guy on the W2L in Jan this year that he'd been out in this car he said it was very quick and there's something not normal about the gear ratio as even when its going quickly to over take Mr BenRoss still can drop it into 2nd..

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.
VEMS + 12 PSI + Liquid Intercooler = Small Bore FUN!

First of all, it should read:"why ARE there two dump valves".

Second: Why are they BOTH fitted AFTER the intercooler? I fyou need two, it would make more sense to fit them before the intercooler.

Why cool down air you are dumping?

Boost control? Isn't that the wastgates job?

If you dump cool air, you can dump more, faster.

You can use a DV as boost control as well. Blead off air from the pressure port so that the valve lifts under boost, bleading off the excess boost.

I thought you would have known that *tongue*

ah right, so theres not real benift from having it before the cooler, just process waste type preference. (the process being cooling the air)

wouldnt throttle respose be better with the DV closer to the throttle body though?

To be honest i think this is all irrelatice as its going to be un-noticeable.....? the little amount of extra throttle response or the little amount of extra air in a cold charge, blah blah

If you dump cool air you can dump more faster? What kind of bullshit is that? It's the volume of air you're dumping, not a given mass. Even so, does it matter? It's dumped anyway...

If you put the DV before the intercooler, you'll use energy to cool air you're dumping. If you put the DV before the intercooler, you'll cool the intercooler MORE (under driving conditions) and the air rushing through the system when the DV closes will be cooled MORE.

There is ONE reason to fit the intercooler after the IC, and that is if you're using a resirculating DV but for some strange reason, very few on this site do. However, if you do this vs. fitting it before the IC and resirculating it, I guess the gains are debateable. Will a 20degree cooling of the inlet air result in a 20 degree cooling after the compressor housing??

who gives a toss guys.... Steves car is frickin mint and one of the better builds on here,

i recall we discussed the extra DV ages ago...like two years back (Steve and I) and it was a case of he had it spare and knew it would create a stir / topic of convo i think it was summit along the lines of "Confuses the chavs bigstyle"

personally i reckon the pair will purge the system of air quicker than the one Dv at the plenum, bit like having two plug holes in a bath at each end rather than one...... so in my teeny tiny brain i suppose it works better at very high boostslike 20 psi.. and if you are on and off the gas in short sharp bursts ie very twisty road and driving like me.

just a novice theory, but when i drove the shit out of it, unlike others i have, there was no crackle or turbo run on (if that is the correct term) when i was beasting the shit out of it.

either way you all smell and i am the coolest !.....whatever.
